StreamlineBy StreamlineNovember 6, 2026No Comments6 Mins Read

As a core component of Modern Warfare 4, the multiplayer mode features a variety of maps tailored to specific game modes, a collection of 21 maps in total, including both brand-new designs and returning classics.

While maps are randomly selected from a specific pool based on the game mode, meaning you cannot choose them yourself, you likely have your own personal favorites, and you might even be curious about which maps are considered the best in terms of design.

In this guide, IGGM ranks all 13 of the 6v6 maps in CoD Modern Warfare 4 from worst to best. See where your favorite maps land!

  • Tier C: Nautical, Transit 213
  • Tier B: Coal, Munition, Mumbai, Shipment
  • Tier A: Rooftop, Reactor U92, Lithium, Sentury
  • Tier S: Lotus, Cachette, Silkworm

Tier C: Nautical, Transit 213

If you end up on Nautical map in a 6v6 match, consider it a sign of bad luck. The map’s long, straight sightlines and abundance of cover make it incredibly easy for opponents to spawn trap your team.

The map is cluttered with an excessive number of doors, mostly along the sides of the ship, which turns the interior into a chaotic, unpredictable mess during actual gameplay.

The center of the map consists of a long, narrow corridor flanked by cover, while the second floor offers a vantage point that overlooks various spawn locations. Even if you manage to slip inside the ship, you’re constantly at risk of an enemy appearing from another angle to take you out.

Transit 213 is larger in scale, which one might assume would lead to better spawn logic; however, the reality is quite the opposite, you’ll find yourself getting killed with frustrating frequency.

That said, the map isn’t entirely without merit. It features some interesting elements and plays quite well for long-range weaponry, thanks to several exceptionally long sightlines.

If you want to get more familiar with these maps, a great approach is choose Modern Warfare 4 bot lobbies for sale, to unlock a controlled environment where you can study map details, and prepare yourself to handle real-player matches with confidence.

Tier B: Coal, Munition, Mumbai, Shipment

Coal map is designed to slow down the pace of gameplay; it features an excessive number of entry points, making the flow of the match highly unpredictable.

When playing on this map, you should avoid the central area, a long, sloped corridor where one side easily grants the enemy a high-ground advantage. It is a much wiser strategy to stick to the edges of the map and maneuver along the flanks.

CoD MW4 Multiplayer 6v6 Maps Tier B

Munition map from MW4 is unique in that the experience can vary significantly from one match to the next. It is essentially a medium-sized, three-lane map that embodies classic Call of Duty design elements.

Mumbai is not particularly large, but its various zones feel disjointed: one side is fast-paced but features cramped core buildings with too many entry points, while the other side is chaotic and lacks a cohesive layout. Consequently, the overall experience is rather mediocre.

As for Shipment, a map that has appeared in most Modern Warfare titles, the gameplay is decent. It isn’t ranked higher simply because it lacks originality and offers no surprises in its design.

That said, it is certainly easier to rack up high killstreaks here. Furthermore, if you have redeemed specific CoD MW4 Double XP Token, you can level up your weapons or characters even more quickly.

Tier A: Rooftop, Reactor U92, Lithium, Sentury

Although Rooftop has faced plenty of criticism since its testing phase, it actually performs reasonably well compared to the maps mentioned earlier. This is likely because it is a medium-sized, three-lane map with relatively stable spawn points.

Additionally, as noted by IGGM, Rooftop offers several excellent positions for mid-range engagements, along with ample opportunities for flanking, allowing players to leverage their tactical awareness and map knowledge to gain an edge.

Next, Reactor U92 is set at a damaged nuclear reactor in South Korea. The environment fits Modern Warfare 4 aesthetic perfectly, and the gameplay is quite diverse. Its main drawback, however, is the common issue of frequent, erratic spawn-point flipping.

Lithium had the potential to be a great map, but the decision to leave the center inaccessible, effectively making it a dead zone, is a major flaw.

For a map designed to be small and fast-paced, having to run all the way around the center feels incredibly awkward. Furthermore, it is quite easy to get caught in a spawn trap on this map.

As for Sentury, it is arguably the most straightforward map currently in CoD MW4, and it works quite well. It avoids overly complex layouts and lacks any glaring, restrictive choke points, resulting in a very smooth flow of gameplay.

If there is a drawback, it’s that the color palette feels a bit too monotonous, especially considering that Call of Duty has featured snow maps with much more compelling visual design in the past.

Tier S: Lotus, Cachette, Silkworm

While Lotus has a somewhat unconventional shape that blurs the lines between different routes, it excels by incorporating multiple key positions. This prevents any single spot from becoming too dominant, while the center of the map serves as a focal point for intense combat.

Additionally, it is one of the most visually striking maps in MW4, certainly a step up from Sentury, which earns it a higher ranking.

Although Cachette is a fast-paced map, it remains well-structured rather than chaotic. It allows players to dictate when to engage based on their own strategy, rather than forcing them to constantly react to unpredictable situations.

In terms of scale, Cachette is on the larger side, thanks to its two substantial core buildings. While it may fall just short of the absolute best, it remains a highly engaging map.

It is worth noting that the interiors of the buildings are quite compact, making them frequent hotspots for close-quarters combat; consequently, SMGs and ARs are generally the preferred weapons here.

Finally, IGGM places Silkworm at the top of this ranking. Set in a South Korean shopping district, it utilizes a classic three-lane, medium-sized layout where a wide variety of weapons can perform effectively.

CoD MW4 Multiplayer 6v6 Maps Tier S

Compared to other maps with similar structures, Silkworm features numerous crossover points between its three main lanes, allowing players to transition between them with ease and keeping the combat rhythm fluid.

One of the few negative points regarding this map is that vehicles can sometimes explode right at the start of a match. Honestly, though, this isn’t a major issue, after all, these explosions don’t cover the entire map.

The above ranking is based on IGGM’s review; perhaps you have your own personal list as well!
